A multi-stakeholder international research workshop was held at NUS from 3rd to 5th June 2024, followed by a public engagement seminar on 6th June. The workshop brought together core team members, international collaborators, and representatives from Singapore’s agencies and institutes to develop a roadmap, network, and share insights on coastal and marine research. The event featured lectures from experts, including Dan Friess and Fernanda Adame, and hands-on sessions on blue carbon accounting using case studies from Australia. About 50 participants attended, including 16 from non-academic agencies.
The following two days included collaborative discussions at NUS and Pulau Ubin, where team members aligned their work plans, engaged with NParks at the Ubin Living Lab, and synergized efforts across the three focus areas.
The seminar on 6th June featured Fernanda Adame presenting cutting-edge research on tidal wetlands and carbon sequestration, engaging students, faculty, and non-academic participants from NUS and NTU.
